Congratulation’s on your new arrival!
Congratulations on the arrival of your new baby! The birth or adoption of a child is one of the most exciting and life-changing events, and we are honored that you have chosen us to partner with you on this wonderful journey.
Our team at JUKP is committed to providing the highest quality, compassionate pediatric care for your child, from infancy through adolescence. We remember what it is like to be a new parent, and we want to assure you that no question is too simple to ask. Our goal is to support you in keeping your baby happy and healthy.
What are the first steps …..
Newborn Insurance
Please contact your insurance carrier as soon as possible to add your newborn to your policy. Most plans include a limited enrollment period (typically around 30 days) during which this must be completed. Failure to add your newborn within this time frame may result in you being responsible for all charges incurred.
First Appointment
Please schedule your baby’s first appointment by calling our office during regular business hours to notify us of their arrival. The initial well-child visit is typically scheduled within 5–7 days after hospital discharge. In some cases, the hospital may recommend an earlier visit within the first 2–4 days of life, particularly to monitor feeding or evaluate for jaundice. We reserve late-morning appointments each day to accommodate these needs. If an early visit is required, your baby’s first well-child check will be scheduled during that appointment.
Newborn Fees
Fees will be collected at appointments during the period between your baby’s birth and the activation of insurance coverage. Once the insurance is active and claims have been processed, all fees collected during this time will be applied toward any patient responsibility required by your insurance for those visits. If a credit remains after all charges have been applied, you may choose to keep the credit on your account for future use or request a refund by check payable to you.
Newborn Paperwork
Upon arrival for your newborn’s initial appointment, you will be provided with a packet of information to review and sign. This packet includes forms that require your signature.
